Troop 990
Adult Leaders
Troop 990 is supported by trained volunteers who guide the youth-led program, coordinate activities, and keep troop operations running.
Our Approach
Coach the Scout. Don’t do it for them.
Troop 990 is youth-led. Adults provide structure, safety, and guidance while leaving meaningful responsibility with the Scouts.
Ask questions, offer perspective, and help a Scout think through the next step.
Demonstrate a skill when needed, then let the Scout practice and complete the task.
Allow reasonable mistakes. Leadership develops when Scouts solve real problems themselves.
Adults step in when there is an immediate safety concern or a serious consequence that cannot reasonably be allowed to occur.
