Flags Across Austin
Flags Across Austin is an opportunity for your scout to sell a series of “Flag Installations” at his family, neighbor and friend’s homes on 5 patriotic holidays ( Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, Labor Day and Veteran’s Day).
Through this program, you scout has the chance to make his OWN money that the troop will keep for him in HIS personal account. When he needs the money for summer camp, scout expenses, Jamboree, or gear, he can make a withdrawal and share in the pride in buying the things he wants. The subscription is $40 a year and included the set up and take down of the flags 5 times this season, at a cost of $8 each. Your son earns and keeps half of each $40 sale. The troop supplies all the materials.

- Record Keeping
- Earning / Saving money
- Accountability
- Pride in the American Flag
- Patriotism
This really is a simple way to let your scout have a chance to earn some money and accomplish the values above. In the past we’ve had scouts pay for summer camp trips like Spanish Peaks and other scouting treks. Some have paid large portions towards Jamboree, Philmont etc…It works and is a lot of FUN!
